What to see in: Montréal du Gers

Armagnac region

Version Française

This is a small town that dominates the valley of l'Auzoue in the center of the Canton of Montréal.

Montréal. du Gers has a marvelous market square with arcades, interesting architecture and a pretty view of the valley.

Montréal. du Gers is a bastide established in 1255. The definition of bastide is simple: a concentrated form of of the rural habitat typical to the South West France. It originated with the Counts of Toulouse as territorial and rehousing management policy in mid-XIII century.

La Gare is 3 km on the road to Eauze. It is a museum of items associated with train stations, railways etc. In addition, they offer good meals and over night stay in the Station Master apartments. Good fun!
